What do you see in this photo?
I took this photo 2 years ago this November at my grandparents farm the day it was sold.
Going through all the old barns and sheds, one…last…time. Just me and the farm. I was soaking up the memories of summers there, exploring the beauty of the old structures. Timeless. The beauty of Rural America.
I didn’t consciously realize the wall boards were full of cross images at the time. As I begun a focused pursuit of the cross in January 2016, seeking crosses and being compelled to take photos, I thought of this image, taken 2 months prior. This was one of my early cross photos.
And that is the nice subtlety of the cross. It is there even when you don’t know it. Surrounding you. Being present, even if you aren’t. Just waiting for you to see.
