Visiting my 89 year old grandmother last year, I opened her farmhouse kitchen cabinet and was delighted to find the old set of “Grandma” and “Grandpa” mugs my sister and I had given them 30 years ago. Faithful, cherished and well-worn, they were still used daily. Not replaced with a newer version, but tried and true, consistent. I forgot about these but seeing the mugs remembered instantly- and took a photo- they were a Christmas gift from many years ago. And now….after my grandmother passed several months ago, they have been returned. Yesterday I used one for the first time- “Grandpa.” Usually I like my handcrafted pottery mug, but these two are very special- a recycled gift of Love.
